About the plant: Thyme loves a lot of sun, stony soil and is mainly found as a wild plant around the Mediterranean. Thyme has been cultivated in monastery gardens for centuries because of its diverse healing properties.

The herb contains a very large proportion of linalool and is therefore a very mild thyme. It smells delicate, almost slightly flowery and is also often used for children.

In naturopathy, thyme is used for colds, muscle and joint complaints, as well as to promote digestion. Also popular for oral hygiene.

Traditional usage: Although thyme linalool is a mild oil, it can have a powerful effect. It is described as having strong antibacterial and antiviral properties and is also said to fight fungi, especially yeast. In naturopathy, thyme oil is used for cold symptoms, muscle and joint aches, to aid digestion and in oral care. It is said to facilitate expectoration, have an expectorant effect and is good for inhalation in bronchitis and sinus infections. In addition, this chemotype is also used to treat skin blemishes and acne, and can be helpful for infected wounds and inflammation of the urinary tract. For nervousness and mental exhaustion and weakness, thyme oil is reported to have restorative effects. It is said to promote the ability to think and help to new mental clarity.
