Myrrh
Charakter des Öls: warm, bittersüß, würzig-balsamisch
About the plant: Myrrh refers to the resin of the Myrrh Tree, which can grow up to 10 meters high. The resin flows out through incisions in the bark, and when hardened it looks like red-brown tears of resin.
Myrrh has a special place in the Bible. The wise men from the East, brought gifts for the baby Jesus: frankincense, gold and myrrh. These were very valuable gifts at the time and symbolized respect and appreciation.
In naturopathy, it is used for oral care, skin problems, stomach, intestinal, cold and joint problems. Myrrh has been known as a healing agent for wounds since ancient times. Myrrh is also used as beauty care against wrinkles and in the treatment of scars because it has a cell-regenerating effect.
The high proportion of sesquiterpenes makes the oil very well tolerated, mild and skin-friendly. It has powerful antiviral ingredients.
